Street Locus, a registered trade mark of MediRate Inc., is a web based service that provides on line locus investigations for insurers, real estate agents, government agencies, or anyone who has a need to see the outside world from their desktop.

Our unique approach combines richly detailed maps with geo-referenced media.  The result is an easy to use visual interface that allows you to inspect and view the outside world.

The maps you see on our demo site are available country wide. Media (pictures, video, and 360° panoramas) are available in Massachusetts and will soon be available in other states. Subscribers have the ability to request any street or intersection and have it posted in as little as two days.

Special services are also available, such as ultra-high resolution photographs that can be streamed lightly over the web…ideal when you need a detailed scene analysis. We’ve included some samples  to show how this technology will work for you.

Got video?  Your network administrator will appreciate Street Locus’ bandwidth friendly video, and you’ll enjoy the ability to travel from your browser in a way you’ve never done before.  Street Locus streams video using a multi-bit rate encoding process which eliminates the need to select a “high” or “low” band connection.  In fact, the only requirement to view Street Locus video is a fast (non-dialup) access to the Web. 

Street Locus pictures are positional and directional. Our maps visually display the location and direction of the camera. So you always know where you are and which way you are facing. Some of our pictures are panoramas which we render through a special viewer. We call these “immersive” because you are immersed or surrounded by the picture.
